International conference "Russia and China: Development of Partnership. New Opportunities” will be held in Irkutsk in the frames of the Baikal Economic Forum

One more event was included in the VI Baikal Economic Forum Programme- the International Conference "Russia and China: Development of Partnership. New Opportunities”. It will be held in Irkutsk on September, 7. According to the Forum Organizing Committee, the idea was put forward by the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia. Viktor Basargin, the Minister of Regional Development, and Denis Travin, the Director of the Investment Projects Department of the RF Ministry of Regional Development, are to moderate the conference.

The process of the implementation of projects on Russian-Chinese border cooperation, approved by the Advisory Council on the Regional Investment Policy at the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia will be observed at the conference.

In addition, a presentation of priority investment projects approved by the Advisory Council: the development of Nizhnekolymskiy coal deposit (Chukotka Autonomous District), complex processing of Primagadanskih brown coal deposits (Magadan region), the construction of the railway bridge across the Amur River in an area of Nizhneleninskoe settlement (Russia, the Jewish Autonomous Region) and the city of Tongjiang (PRC), Erkovetskoy TPS project of large-scale exports of electricity from Russia to China (Amur region), the establishment of industrial zones in the village Mogoytuy (Chita Region), the construction of an integrated timber production in Sakhalin region, as well as the project "Big Ussuriysky Island" (Khabarovsk Territory) are included in the programme.

Also,  presentations of the investment project on construction of infrastructure of special economic zone of tourist-recreational type "Baikal harbor" in the Republic of Buryatia, the project of building of a factory to produce bottled drinking water of Lake Baikal in Kultuk settlement, Slyudyansky District and the creation of industrial park, high-tech materials in the Irkutsk Oblast will be done.

The conference will be attended by representatives of the State Committee of China Development and Reform Commission, China Association for the Development and Planning businesses abroad, Ministry of Commercial of China, the business community of China. The Russian side, together with the Ministry of Regional Development, will be represented by the leaders of several regions, investors, members of the Expert Council for the Regional Investment Policy at the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia. Igor Rogachev, a member of the FC, will represent the Federation Council. The participation of prominent Russian scientists - Mikhail Titarenko , Director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies, Academician, and Victor Razbegin, Head of the Center of the Russian-Chinese Cooperation SSRI, Council for the Study of Productive Forces etc is expected. Also, the debates will be attended by leaders and representatives of major Russian companies – Vnesheconombank ,  Lukoil, Interros ,  INTER RAO UES,  Sibur , Basic Element, ONEXIM Group, Rosatom  and others. It is expected that the conference will be attended by 200 representatives from China and Russia.
