27 representatives of Shanghai Cooperation Organization will come to the Forum
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization will send its 27 representatives to the 5th Baikal Economic Forum. Among them will be the SCO general secretary Bolat Nurgaliev, president of the board of the Business Council Dmitry Mezentsev, president of the People’s Republic of China national part of the Business Council Yui Lin, president of the Kazakhstan national part of the Business Council Raimbek Batalov, president of the Kyrgyzstan national part of the Business Council Boris Perfiliev, president of the Tajikistan national part of the Business Council Sharif Saidov, president of the Uzbekistan national part of the Business Council Alisher Shaikhov.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international institution comprised by Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The SCO countries cooperate in the spheres of security, economy, and culture. It is advantageous for Irkutsk Oblast to carry out common economic and humanitarian projects with these countries, especially the fast developing China.
On September, 11, 2008 there will be Day of SCO at the 5th Baikal Economic Forum and a meeting of the board of its Business Council. The participants will discuss the results of SCO countries’ presidents meeting, which is to take place on August, 28 in Dushanbe. On the agenda are issues of healthcare institutions in the SCO countries, common projects in energy and agricultural industries, the experience of the chain university, intergovernmental initiatives in the insurance sector. Another important point of discussion will be the projects of innovative development, including those dealing with venture foundations.
